A Journey in Sharjah Light Festival

Here recommend you the 2019 (from 2-6th-2019 to 2-16th-2019) Sharjah Light festival in subject of “A Journey in Lights”, it is a artistic, cultural, dreamlike and fairy show. The artists create a grand audio-visual entertainment in Sharjah's landmarks with lighting, color, music and Sharjah's heritage.


Total 16 locations specialist for the lighting show, and lighten on time, 6:00pm-11:00pm (6:00pm-12:00am in weekend)

 

1st, AVENUE OF LIGHTS

Location, Sharjah University City Campus Avenue

During the Sharjah Light Festival , here is a gallery of lights, paying tribute to the festival and symbolizing the close relationship with the Sharjah Education Monument. The design team spent four months building an art installation, and the 4.6 kilometer lighting avenue will keep visitors entertained!

2nd, ONE MORE NIGHT

"Dream Story" is a creative work that combines 2D and lighting with various techniques. It shows the story of the Eastern and Western epicly like a dream. Due to the changes in lighting, the University City Auditorium immediately became a curtain, showing the prince and princess, mythical animals, lost treasures and other stories.

3rd  MARCHING THROUGH LIFE

Location, American University of Sharjah

What is a university? The university is a big family of knowledge, passing on knowledge and living endlessly. This work designed for the American University of Sharjah has such a symbolic meaning: knowledge is passed from generation to generation. The lights on the surface of the building pay tribute to the creative students of the American University of Sharjah with hand-drawn animation. 


4th HE LIVING NETTING

Location, Sharjah Book Authority

The internal inheritance of generations has formed the image of today, and the role of external culture and influence has shaped a family – culture and family are developing in a subtle way. Inspired by organic elements such as coral, this light show at the Library Authority demonstrates the process by which individuals develop and influence each other in their own way.

 

5th  TRANSMISSION - THE OPENING CEREMONY

The “show” of the light show designed for Sharjah is a tribute to Arab culture and those who make Arabic culture alive. The light show will focus on the breadth of Arab culture and the uniqueness of the symbol, which is intended to indicate that Sharjah is such a place that brings together all the “different directions”. The municipal building with its unique architectural style will also become more and more magnificent in the light show.

8th A LAGOON’S REFLECTION

  Sharjah is the capital of Arab culture, and this light show exists to emphasize this status. The Arnold Mosque and the entire water landscape blend into one, like the door to the spirit of the city, open to visitors from all over the world.

10th A BRIDGE OF LIGHT

Laser technology reveals the essence of Alkasba's architecture. The dynamic lighting highlights the architectural features, illuminates the details and outlines the exquisite stonework. A bridge meets the colors of the lights on both sides of the Alcásba Canal.

Have you ever thought about adventuring into a fascinating forest? In the palm oasis, billions of small "fireflies" light up the entire "forest."

12th ROUTE OF CULTURES

The “Cultural Road” brought us back to the ancient times and returned to the time when Sharjah established trade links with the rest of the world. And this is the first medium to establish a connection between cultures – to open the way and build bridges. This adventure begins in China, passing through India and ancient Mesopotamia, and encountering dangerous glaciers and fertile oases on the way... 


13th AQUATIC VISIONS

Location, Municipality and Municipal Council  (Al Hamriyah)

Arabic literature attaches great importance to fairy tales and stories on the road. And this light show also gives the elements of Arabic literature in the form of light: fishing nets, mosaics, Arabian rugs, and the vision of turning into wonderful water. The light show in Al Hamriya will be the center of the lagoon and the harbour, starting from the water world and creating a dream world.


14th MATTER OF MYTHOLOGY

Location, Municipality, Municipal Council and Directorate of Human Resources (Kalba)

The origins of culture and literary treasures are vividly presented in this light work, while paper and ink are the gateway to mythological stories. The curves of calligraphy show different characteristics, written on the building, quite novel. 


15th HERITAGE AS A JOURNEY

Location, Municipality, Municipal Council & Town Planning Department (Khorfakkan)

Artist, Studio Halpeji

Every civilization uses writing as its basic element to pass on ruins and stories. The “Relics Tour” light show traces such a story on the building, using the simplest points and lines to write the text and telling a wonderful journey story. The second building will bring visitors into an educational journey through the Suminagashi technology on the surface of traditional books.

 

16th TALES IN MOSAIC

Location, Masjid Sheikh Rashid Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi (Dibba Al Hisn)

Artist, François Decourbe

The Dibba Al Hisn overlooks the busy fishing port and the lonely sea. The sound and story blend with the light, stitching a kaleidoscope-like story. This light show focuses on traditional Arabic lines, glass shards and mosaics provide a different perspective on the world. The colorful experience makes the audience.
